Israel is more than the land promised the Jews; all the sites holy to Christians and Jews are holy also to Moslems.

And over the centuries, Israel has been ruled by Egypt, Nineveh, Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome and Byzantium; by the Arabs (centered first in Damascus, then in Baghdad, then Cairo), by European Crusaders, Mamelukes, Turks and the British before returning to Jewish hands. All have left behind remnants of their time here.

Alongside these historical remains, Israel has a fascinating diversity in geology and geography, where radical changes in a tiny area give rise to a bewildering and colorful variety of flowers, plants and trees.

And this holds good for the wildlife as well. A billion plus birds migrate over Israel, and a large variety of fish can be found in the coral.

On top of the rich history and natural atrributes Israel also offers a variety of cultural activities: it is home to one of the finest symphony orchestras in the world and it has a rich choice of museums and galleries. As it does of modern music and nightlife, of food, fashion, marketplaces and shops. It offers active excursions on land, in the air and underwater. And it has sun-drenched beaches to help you unwind.

No-one can visit Israel and not go home enriched.
